Women’s Health Activity Booklet
This activity booklet was designed to fulfill the requirements for the Senior Women Health badge or can be used by frontier girl leaders to earn similar badges.
This booklet will have activities that are hands on to keep the girls engaged while earning badge, your girls will be using the booklets activities to put together their very own personal magazine, called the Real Girl. In the issue of their personal magazine they will learn more about ways to help women stay healthy, play a game to learn about health fads, and put what they learn into their magazine, create a cover showing a “Real Girl” rather than digitally edited, it will cover facts and ways to prevent breast cancer, and they will learn how to stay emotionally healthy.
- How to help women stay healthy – Girls will learn more about how to reduce stress and change their eating habits, and stay active with a number of activities including Yoga, a simple healthy snack recipe, and a game of fitness tic tac toe.
- Health Fads Through History – Girls will learn more about exercise and diet fads throughout American history, by playing a game matching fads through decades and will also have the opportunity to try out a few of the exercise fads they learn about.
- Staying Emotionally healthy is important – Girls will do a number of activities to help them understand their own personality, play a game to show the girls all their positive attributes, and in the end learn how to stay healthy emotionally so it wont effect them physically.
- Explore and Tell the World About Breast Cancer – Girls will learn more about our founder Juliette Gordon Low who died of breast cancer, dig deeper into preventive measures, and put together a mammogram pledge for other important woman in their life to take.
