4 Fun Games and Activities To Earn the Brownies Ways Badge

The Brownie Ways badge is a badge you will most likely earn with your girls.  I always try to start the year out with this badge it is a great badge to introduce the girls to what this organization is all about.

After being a leader for so many years doing the same thing every year became boring and repetitive. Of course the girls are always different so they wouldn’t know, but a few years back I decided I would change up what I would do with girls.

Below are a few ideas to get you started.

Celebrate Juliette Low’s birthday

Have your girls make a poster that tells all about our founder. Use the printed pictures and statements to put together a poster all about our founder Juliette Low. How much do the girls know about her, see how many they can figure out on their own. Each picture goes with a statement. Get your copy of this poster project here

Kaper Chart Fun

In addition to the Juliette Low poster, I came up with a new and interesting way to do a Kaper chart using a plastic container clothes pins and some cut outs. It looked like a tree with monkey’s hanging off it. Get the directions and free pdf print outs here.

Learn the Motto

Teach girls this cheer, then have them teach it to the whole group

What Else Could I do?

Lastly to complete the rest of the requirements for the Brownie GS Ways badge, I will plug another great website: Makingfriends.com. I highly recommend getting the Badge in a Bag and the groovy Sit Upon kit.

What do we do after your girls complete the activities?

Well of course give them the badge to display proudly on their vest, they earned it!  Additionally If you are like many leaders we want to award our girls when they complete something even beyond just the patch. One great way to show achievement is with a certificate. Don’t worry you don’t have to make them, I found a resource that has done all the work for you and all you have to do is print them and customize the certificates with each girl’s name, badge or award earned, date, and troop leader.  Editable certificates perfect for awarding girls after earning a badge.

More Resources For You Beyond This Site

I get asked a lot what other resources are out there on the internet for Leaders.  I have done some digging over the years and have used many of the resources myself. I compiled a list of some great companies that sell patches, programs and also other bloggers offering amazing resources that may fit your needs even better than my site did.   Checkout what I found.
