It is that time of year where we are thinking about what we are thankful for, getting excited about shopping and spending time with our families and friends to celebrate the holidays.
While we all love earning badges to put on the front of our vest. It is just as much fun to participate in events, activities, and programs to earn fun patches for the back of our vest.
Today’s Fun Patch Post will cover everything for your Holiday fun needs and are all from a amazing company called Advantage Emblem and Screen Printing.
On November 11, we honor the wartime service and sacrifice of men and women in the armed forces. This is a great opportunity for your girls to make thank you cards to give to veterans in your area. Veterans Day Fun Patch Now
Help Your Community Food Drive
When you’re planning a food drive, getting people excited and curious is one of the best ways to create buzz and fill an empty donation barrel. One idea during the busy holiday is to set up gift wrapping services in or around shopping plazas. The cost would be a simple donation to the food pantry or cash donation to buy food. Now that you have done a community food drive get a fun patch to put on the back of each girls vest. Food Drive Fun Patch
Take your girls on a hike and give each girl a bag to pick up pretty fallen items along the path such as fallen leaves, bark, pinecones, twigs, and other nature finds as they walk. Then cut out a circle shape from hard cardboard as the base. Have girls glue their findings to their wreath. For hanging, glue a large paper clip to the back of each wreath. Now that you have made a beautiful Thanksgiving decoration. Add a fun patch to your vest. Thanksgiving Fun Patch
I bet you would love making a pie with your troop. Here is a great recipe to try that does not require a oven which is even better!
What you need:
How to make:
In a small bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix 2 minutes. Stir in 3/4 cup whipped topping. Fold in 3/4 cup of the mint candies. Spoon into crust. Place remaining whipped topping in another bowl. Fold in extract and, if desired, food coloring. Spread over pudding mixture; top with remaining candies. Refrigerate, covered, 4 hours or until set. Makes enough for 8 servings.
For added fun have you seen the pie face game? It is a game that you could get hit in the face with whipped cream or you can use shaving cream. You turn the handle and if you don’t get splatted with pie you give it to next player. It will be loads of fun for your troop. Now that you have had fun making a pie you can get your girls each a fun patch for the activity. Pie Making Embroidered Fun Patch
Besides the obvious of taking your girls shopping for holiday presents. You can also have some fun playing a scavenger hunt shopping game. First you will need to make a list of a number of items you can gather to use for this activity. Example water bottle, phone, cookies, toilet paper, etc. Then make a list and make copies so each girl has the list. Give each girl a shopping bag, and hide the items all over the meeting space. Make sure you have as many of each item that you have girls. For example 5 girls 5 rolls of toilet paper. Then on go girls must go find each item on their list and put in shopping bag. First girl to complete first wins. Now that you have shopped your little hearts out get a fun patch to put on the back of each girls vest. Shopping Embroidered Fun Patch
